Asia Express is a TVN travel show and a unique challenge for our team.
We have extensive experience with life-size and larger human figures.
Miniature figures are a completely different story: in modeling, printing, and especially painting.
Reproducing facial details and likeness in a 10 cm figure required a brand-new skill set.

Realistic details
Actors were scanned with different devices. Faces and fine details require higher resolution from Artec Spider, while the full body should be captured as quickly as possible because holding a pose for longer is difficult. Artec Leo worked perfectly here.
Details required 8K printers, and print imperfections are visible only in close-up. After scanning, figures received additional elements such as lettering and backpack logos, while features that were too tiny (like drawstrings or strands of hair) were remodeled or removed.
Natural skin
A natural skin look on miniatures can be achieved with subtle tonal transitions that imitate soft shadows and light reflections. Delicate color variation is also crucial to convey warmth and the complexity of real skin.
Miniature perfection
A wealth of details — from subtle tattoos and tiny watch hands to translucent materials (e.g. a drink bottle)
and precise clothing patterns, many reproduced both in color and geometry — makes them stand out with authenticity and character.
